High-quality halftone and dither patterns — every photo gets processed cleanly to maintain maximum detail and professional print contrast.

Halftone & Dither Patterns

Pattern thickness / scale 4px

Cell/dot size in pixels (2px = ultra-fine, 16px = coarse print screen).

Contrast boost (%) 30%

Higher contrast creates bolder black patterns and clean highlights.

S-curve (film tone) (%) 0%

Gentle filmic S-curve — adds midtone snap while protecting shadows & highlights (softer than Contrast boost).

Auto-tone (normalize black & white points)

Gives every photo consistent punch so a mixed folder reads as one zine. Turn off to keep each photo's original exposure.

Sharpen (%) 40%

Output sharpening at print resolution — compensates for press/copier softness and crisps detail before halftoning.

Background tone

The base color of your zine paper stock.

Soft-proof print colors

Simulates how colors render on your chosen output — out-of-gamut neons mute, blacks/paper match. Affects preview + exported PDF (best for color styles). Loads a small color engine the first time.

Duotone Tint

Select the atmospheric tint for the Smog-Haze Duotone style.

7 · Inkjet print helper (manual duplex)

Duplex Helper & Actions

For inkjets without auto-duplex. Splits the PDF into fronts and backs, and tells you how to flip the stack.

Print & Fold Instructions

Open the PDF. Print duplex (both sides). If your printer can't auto-duplex, print odd pages, flip the stack, print even pages.
Choose flip on short edge. If back pages come out upside-down, switch to long edge.
Print at 100% scale. No auto-fit.
Stack the sheets in order, fold in half along the spine, staple twice along the fold.
Trim the open edge for a clean finish.

Test with a 4-page zine first to dial in duplex direction.
